This is Inform Direct’s third product release this month following on from:
- the improved signing up and logging in processes; and
- a number of improvements to various areas of the system.
This third release adds a new process to allow you to convert:
- a corporate person to an individual;
- an individual to a corporate person; and
- both to joint persons.
Converting to individual shareholders
Manage company shareholder records
Inform Direct makes it easy to manage shareholder records and keep filings at Companies House up to date.
When a company is first imported into Inform Direct the shareholder information is based on that held by Companies House from the last list of shareholders submitted to them. This list may be from several years ago and is often incomplete or not in the expected format for the type of person.
This can mean that an individual shareholder’s name is all included in one field rather than split between two – Forenames and Surname. As a result when imported this is saved as a corporate person. This can if known beforehand be resolved during the import process. However, as these are not all identified at this stage a company may have individual shareholders showing as corporate shareholders.
This new simple one step process gives users the ability to convert them to individuals.
Converting individuals or corporate persons to joint persons
Similarly where a shareholding is held jointly by two or more persons this is sometimes returned by Companies House as one person. The new process allows such a shareholder to be converted to joint persons holding the shares jointly.
The new convert process will help ensure that any shareholder lists submitted to Companies House are correct.
