Inform Direct product update – February 2015

At the same time as sprucing a few things up, we’ve today added a whole layer of features to Inform Direct to help businesses and their accountants. These are all aimed at helping you deal effectively with detailed share transactions. That means Inform Direct now supports:

  • Share splits
  • Share consolidations
  • Share redemptions
  • Share cancellations
  • A company purchasing its own shares
  • Bonus share issues
  • Rights issues
  • Partial conversions of a share class
  • Treasury shares and related transactions

While some of these transactions can be more complex than standard share allotments or transfers, we’ve hugely simplified them. Wherever possible, we use existing shareholder information to save you time. Each transaction is set up as a simple step by step wizard, the same as our users already know and love. And there’s loads of useful help available to make it easier for you to get the right result.

While Companies House don’t allow a lot of these transactions to be submitted electronically, Inform Direct will produce the right pre-populated forms that you can just print and send them. Where appropriate, it will produce the right combination of forms SH01, SH02, SH03, SH04, SH05, SH06, SH07, SH08 and SH10. So you don’t need to negotiate the complex minefield of “Which form do I need to fill in?” because Inform Direct will make those decisions for you.

As well as producing the right forms, Inform Direct keeps a full record of each transaction. That includes:

  • A full set of transaction logs
  • Updating your fully online suite of company registers
  • Each transaction fully broken down by shareholder, so it’s easy to answer shareholder questions about how their current holding is calculated
  • Retaining the updated position ready for your next confirmation statement (or annual return up to 30 June 2016)

For many companies, transactions like these will be a once in a lifetime affair so you can choose to use and pay for them as and when you use them. But if you have lots of companies or want to use these features a lot, it may be cheaper and easier to pay a single monthly subscription. And all our existing subscribers can access these features without paying a further penny, making a subscription even better value for regular users.
