What’s the impact of Companies House maintenance periods?
During maintenance all Companies House services will be unavailable. You’ll still be able to log into your Inform Direct account and make changes to your companies, but they will not be sent to Companies House until after their services are available again.
During this period you will not be able to:
- Complete confirmation statements if you do not have your own presenter code
- Import additional companies to your account
- Commence company formations and submit these to Companies House

Companies House IT changes
We understand that this is part of a large project to both move their IT infrastructure and improve the information held on the register of companies in line with the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill, and that it may take several years.
Companies House have advised there will likely be multiple periods of downtime at short notice for the foreseeable future.
From experience, most of their maintenance periods in the past have been on weekends – and usually Saturdays – or not during normal working hours.
