Somerset enjoys record breaking year as companies registered in the county pass 40,000
Somerset is toasting twin success as a record total of new companies formed in 2014 meant that the number of companies based in the county topped 40,000 for the first time. The most incorporations were in the north of the county, with the North Somerset unitary authority recording 1,428 while Bath and North East Somerset saw 1,285 new companies.
There are 5.3% more companies registered in Somerset than there were a year ago and 30% more than 5 years ago.
