Essex remains one of the most popular places in the UK to form a new company
2014 was another record year for new companies formed in Essex and the county remains one of the 5 most active areas of the UK for company formations. The best performing parts of the county were Southend with 2,129 new counties, Basildon with 1,839 and Thurrock with 1,679.
Essex also boasts the 4th highest amount of existing companies in the UK, with 100,793 businesses registered with Companies House based in the county. There are almost a third more companies based in Essex than there were 5 years ago.
