(Another) Inform Direct product update – March 2025

We hope you have been using our recently released feature for checking your PSCs which many of our users had requested. This release is a collection of improvements most of which were suggested by you, our users. These include:

  • Seeing which user made a filing
  • Improvements to the company registers
  • Being able to remove the signing section from the confirmation statement approval document
  • And more …

Company registers improvements

We’ve listened to some feedback on the company registers and have made the following updates:

  • The date the registers were generated is now in the footer of the register pages when downloaded
  • Removed a blank page that sometimes appeared after the register of transfers
  • It’s now clearer which company the company registers are for when they are downloaded
    • The name (and company number) of the company the registers are for is now larger and centred, where no company logo is included

The ‘Recent activity’ report now includes the user that made a filing

By running the ‘Recent activity’ report for a company you are now able to identify the user that performed a filing.

Altering an accounting reference date

When you use our ‘Alter accounting reference date’ process and there is more that one accounting period that is eligible to have its accounting period changed then we will no longer automatically populate the suggested year of period to be changed. This is to help prevent the wrong period being changed inadvertently.

Confirmation statement approval documents

From within your account’s ‘Confirmation statement settings’ you are now able to:

  • Choose to disable the ‘Signing section’ that is included in the confirmation statement approval document
  • Ask for the ‘Registered email address’ to be masked in the confirmation statement approval document

Other improvements

This update also includes a few other enhancements:

  • Performance improvements when:
    • Managing users
    • Running the PSC report
  • Allowing company name changes to progress where the current name is the ‘similar’ name
  • Confirmation statement portals no longer require logos to be re-added to be able to be edited
  • Always displaying Companies House authentication codes in upper case (some Companies House systems do not work if used in lower case)
  • The password strength meter gives clear feedback now when the strength is ‘Red’
  • Help text updates
  • Some usability improvements in various processes
