More company formations than ever before in West Yorkshire

In 2018, West Yorkshire celebrated a record number of new companies being formed, after 18,204 were set up in the county. Leeds saw 7,409 new companies formed, followed by Bradford with 4,155, Kirklees with 2,962, Wakefield with 1,889 and Calderdale with 1,774. Overall, after taking account the 15,022 companies dissolved in the region, the number of companies based in West Yorkshire at the end of 2018 was up 4.6% compared to the end of 2017.
