Further increase in company formation in Oxfordshire

The trend to form a company in Oxfordshire continued to gain traction in 2018, with a further increase in the number of people forming a company. There were 4,631 companies formed in Oxfordshire in 2018, compared to 4,612 in 2017 and 4,517 in 2016. The number of companies based in the county stands at an all-time high total of 40,930.

New company formation was strong across different parts of Oxfordshire. There were 1,115 new companies formed in Oxford itself, 1,113 in Cherwell, 940 in South Oxfordshire, 736 in the Vale of White Horse and 719 in West Oxfordshire.
