Big 2018 increase in setup of new companies in Hertfordshire

2018 a substantial increase in the number of entrepreneurs taking the decision to set up a company in Hertfordshire. 15,554 new companies were set up during the year, compared to 13,752 in 2017. It meant that, at the close of 2018, the total number of companies based in the county reached 111,063 – an all-time record, and up 5.3% on the end of 2017.

The trend to set up a company in Hertfordshire was visible across the county, with 2,950 new companies formed in East Hertfordshire, 2,386 in Dacorum, 2,000 in Hertsmere, 1,676 in St. Albans, 1,542 in Watford, 1,070 in Welwyn Hatfield and 1,039 in Broxbourne.
