Strong growth in company formation in Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire celebrated further growth in entrepreneurial activity in 2018, with an increase in the number of people taking the step to form a company. 5,719 companies were formed in the county during the year, compared with 5,447 in 2017 and 5,639 in 2016.

New company formation was strong across Gloucestershire, with 1,655 new companies started in South Gloucestershire, 998 in Cheltenham, 790 in Gloucester, 657 in Stroud and 643 in the Cotswold district.
