2018 was a record year to set up a new company in Dorset
A record-breaking total of 8,314 companies were set up in Dorset in the course of 2018, which exceeded the previous best of 8,113 set in the county in 2016.
Poole led the way with 3,450 new startups. Bournemouth added 2,313, with 741 in West Dorset, 631 in East Dorset, 356 in Purbeck and 303 in North Dorset.
