West Sussex climbs a place in company formations league table

In 2023, 6,678 new companies were formed in West Sussex – a rise of 8.8% over 2022. Dissolutions were slightly up as well – 5,586 against 5,240 – which meant that overall growth in company numbers was reined in to 1.9% (there were 59,896 companies registered in the county at the end of 2023 versus 58,763 for 2022). The healthy company formations figure helped West Sussex climb from 32^nd to 31^st in the national company formations league table, sending things in the right direction for local entrepreneurs.
