Surrey leaps in company formations, but overall growth modest in 2023

It was a record year for company numbers in Surrey in 2023 with 12,018 businesses formed. This represented an increase of 10.2% over 2022’s 10,902 formations. The increase in formations helped Surrey achieve rather modest growth of 1.6% in overall company numbers, and helped it regain the 11^th place in the national league table it lost in 2020. New incorporations per 1,000 people were slightly up to 10.6 from 9.6 in 2022.
