Suffolk continues its stellar run of company formations

Suffolk has been one of the fastest climbers in the league table in 2023, climbing from 30^th to 20^th place with an outstanding 11.4% growth in company numbers. It was a record year for formations as well: 8,934 new businesses were registered in the county in 2023 versus 6,749 in 2022, a whopping 32% increase.

This continues a stellar three years for Suffolk, showing annual growth rates in company numbers of 5.9%, 9.6% and now 11.4% – a real testament to Suffolk’s entrepreneurs who have pulled off these numbers despite challenging trading conditions in 2023 including rising costs and interest rates, plus tepid consumer confidence due to the cost of living crisis.
