Shropshire achieves record year for company formations

During 2023, 3,480 new companies were registered in Shropshire. This is the biggest company formations figure the county has ever achieved – and there are now 4.7% more companies in Shropshire than at the end of 2022 (28,037). Shropshire stays at 41^st in the national company formations league table, having climbed a place the year before.

The country is getting more entrepreneurial over time. In 2021 there were 47.3 companies per 1,000 people. In 2022 there were 56.5. In 2023 the figure rose to 59.2% – which has helped to contribute to the record year.
