Modest growth sees Northumberland keep its place in company formations league table

Northumberland saw a modest rise in company formations in 2023 of 1,554 against 1,527 in 2022. This meant that the county ended the year with 3.3% more companies than it did the year before: 12,830 against 12,420, a rise of 3.3%. Company dissolutions were up slightly as well, which kept overall growth flat. A total of 1,275 companies closed their doors in 2023 versus 1,137 in 2022. Northumberland therefore kept its 45^th place in the national company formations league table.
