A record year for new company formations in Lancashire

2023 saw Lancashire hit a new record for the number of companies formed in a single year. 14,223 was the total – an increase of 6.8% over 2022’s figure of 13,312.

This meant the country ended 2023 with 4.4% more companies in total than the year before – which itself showed 4.6% growth over the previous year. This strong entrepreneurial performance puts Lancashire at 10^th on the national counties league table of company formations, a position it has kept for the past 4 years.
