Kent company formations rise by nearly 3% in 2023

Kent had a successful year for company formations in 2023, with 17,620 new companies incorporated in the county – a rise of 9.4% on 2022’s figure. This brought the total number of companies registered in Kent to 133,898, a modest rise of 2.8% on 2022’s figure. This is due to a slightly higher number of company dissolutions than over the past two years – 14,559 businesses were wound up in Kent over the year, which has somewhat hampered the growth figures. All in all, a strong performance from Kent’s entrepreneurs, leading to rather muted growth figures due to a high number of companies closing their doors.
