A successful year in company formations for East Sussex – but overall growth remains stagnant

In 2023 7,311 new companies were incorporated in East Sussex, which barely moves the needle from 2022’s 7,193. Still, the total number of companies in the country was very slightly up at 71,059 against last year’s 70,836 – so things did move in the right direction during 2023. With some other counties turning in stronger performances, East Sussex slipped a place in the national league table of company formations, from 26^th to 27^th. Overall it was a successful year for East Sussex, but growth remains slow as it has for the two previous years.
