Dorset achieves its highest ever number of registered companies

Dorset achieved a record year for company formations in the last twelve months, with 8,565 new businesses incorporated. While it couldn’t match the impressive 8.4% growth in company numbers achieved in 2022, Dorset businesspeople still kept their county ahead of the curve with a solid 3.3% growth.

This mild slowdown in performance dropped Dorset from 19^th to 23^rd place in the national league table of company formations, but it still has more companies than ever before – 63,266 versus 2022’s 61,217.
