Business community in Rutland continues to express concern after growth during 2022 fails to recover following a disappointing 2021.

2021 saw Ruland company formations fall to their lowest level in several years. Unfortunately, this trend continued into 2022 with just 193 new businesses being formed compared to 195 in 2021 and 410 in 2020 meaning that the total number of businesses registered in Rutland has not yet recovered to 2020 numbers.

With that being said, 2020 was somewhat of an aberration in terms of the number of new incorporations which perhaps goes someway to explain the increase in dissolutions during 2021.

It could be argued that the picture painted in 2022 is simply the county returning to baseline.
