The total number of companies registered in Northamptonshire fell from 53,149 in 2021 to 51,966 in 2022 – a disappointing 2.2% decrease.

Whilst Northamptonshire has never really been a hot spot for formation activity with the 5 year growth rate sitting at just 11.45% (compared to the UK as a whole, which saw 27.1% for the same period), a slightly less bleak picture can be painted when considering the adjustments based on population.
