The number of businesses closing down in Leicestershire during 2022 stunts overall growth.

After a disappointing 2021, growth in the total number companies in Leicestershire shows signs of recovery sitting at a modest 2.3%. With 10,408 companies formed in the county over the year one might expect a slightly more exciting growth rate – however unfortunately the number of dissolutions in the county were also significant at 9,741.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the majority of new company formations in Leicestershire during 2022 were centred in Leicester itself, with 5,072 companies formed.
