Company formation activity in the Isle of Wight unable to maintain precedent set by previous years.

The total number of companies in the Isle of Wight per 1000 people is almost half the national average at 46.4. With 652 companies formed in the Isle of Wight during 2022 this brings the total number of companies registered to 6,423 equating to a 1.6% growth rate for the island, the lowest in over 10 years.

Perhaps unsurprising giving its rural location but the Isle of Wight sits in 46th position in the total number of companies by location league table, with only Rutland sitting below it.
