Company formation activity in Cumbria during 2022 shows promise for local entrepreneurs.

Cumbria experienced an uptick in company incorporations in 2022, as 2,418 companies were set up over the year. That compares favourably with the 2,286 companies established in 2021 bringing the total number of companies based in the county to 23,003 at the end of 2022.

Despite Cumbria sitting in the bottom 10% on the league table of total number of companies formed by county, with the number of dissolutions falling by 8.2% on 2021 this shows promise for the overall growth rate yet.
