Business community in Cheshire continues to express concern after growth during 2022 fails to recover following a disappointing 2021.

2021 saw Cheshire company formations fall to their lowest level in nine years. Unfortunately, this trend continued into 2022 with just 9,335 new businesses being formed – 4.7% less than the preceding year.

When we couple this with the 9,819 dissolutions in the county, it does not paint a particularly promising picture with the total number of companies registered in Cheshire at the close of 2022 falling for a second year in a row from 83,426 to 81,809. Hopefully 2023 will bring better news to the local business community.
