Number of businesses closing down in Northamptonshire during 2021 stunts overall growth.

With 7,131 new companies being formed in Northamptonshire during 2021 this is only 6% higher than the number of companies closing down which sits at 6,724 for the year. This equates to a disappointing 2.2% growth – perhaps the impact of another pandemic year was felt by the county.

That said, the total number of companies in Northamptonshire per 1000 people is almost on parr with the national average so perhaps 2022 will see better things to come for local business.
