Kent unable to continue the year-on-year growth shown for the last 4 years.

Despite 16,625 new companies being formed in Kent in 2021 growth in the county sits below the national average for the year at 3.1%. This means that Kent is no longer on track to meet the UK 5 year average growth rate and underperforms this by 38.8%.

The growth in Kent was very clearly stunted by the highest number of dissolutions in the county in the last few years with 11.4% of current companies closing down compared to 8.7% in the preceding year. Despite this, Kent still sits at an impressive 6^th place on the company formations league table reaching a record high of 126,550 total companies registered.
