Record growth in companies formed in Essex during 2020

Despite lockdowns and the anticipation of brexit, Essex has yet again seen a growth in the number of incorporations as compared to 2019. Despite all the struggles of 2020 the positive numbers speak for themselves: 5,105 businesses formed with 6.9% more companies compared to 2019.

There was positive performance across the county with Thurrock accounting for the majority of companies formed with 2,441 formations. Epping Forest saw 2,153 new companies whilst Southend-on-Sea recorded 2,294 incorporations. See more detailed information below.
