Number of companies based in Surrey at all-time high

Surrey witnessed an annual increase in company formations in 2018, with a total of 11,179 companies formed just exceeding the 11,009 companies incorporated in 2017. It means the number of companies based in the county reached an all-time high, standing at 98,968 at the end of 2018.

There were strong company formation figures across Surrey, with the highest contribution being the 1,586 companies started in Elmbridge in the year. 1,358 companies were set up in Reigate and Banstead, 1,174 in Waverley, 1,155 in Guildford, 1,055 in Woking, 996 in Spelthorne and 889 in Tandridge.
